Talla Skogmo began her career in 1976 at the renowned interior design firm, Gunkelmans. There she learned the art of the trade from one of the industry's best, R. Thomas Gunkelman.

In 2004, Talla established Talla Skogmo Interior Design, where she has created an award-winning firm that continues to deliver classic and timeless interiors to her clients all over the United States. She maintains that the secret to her success has always been her clients.

"Projects are all about the client. Whether it's a log home, a Floridian villa, a city loft or a country side home, it's really about the client, their needs, wants and desires."

For the past 40 years, interior design has been and continues to be Talla's passion. She shares this passion by mentoring young designers—just as she had been—so that they, too, may carry on excellence in design.

Talla Skogmo, ASID

Talla believes projects are made and measured by teams — client, designer, architect and builder. From the earliest stages, her foundation of palette, space and purpose bring a discipline that allows the art of living to find its home. A talented designer, Talla's greatest skill is listening, creating spaces that fulfill her client's needs in a timeless, well-mannered style.

Talla was the recipient of the ASID Designer of Distinction Award in 2009, and the Tom Gunkelman Legacy Award in 2011. Talla has received numerous ASID project awards over the span of her career. She received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Minnesota in Interior Design, and has served on the Board of Trustees for Dunwoody College of Technology since 1997.
